BROAN NU-TONE: BUBBLE SHOT

This shot is from a stereoscopic video we produced for Broan Nu-Tone entitled "Fresh Ideas Inspired by Dreams." The shot provides a transition between the live action footage and a CG fantasy environment. As the actress falls asleep, bubbles begin to drift out of the tub, eventually filling the field of view and merging into a CG animation.

Using RealViz's MatchMover software, we tracked points on objects in the room to reconstruct the vertically craning camera motion ^(a). Once we had a solid camera path ^(b), we were able to add in the CG bubbles.

This process was used for both the left eye and the right eye. When the scene was complete and viewed in a head-mounted VR display, both the CG elements and the real-life elements seem to occupy the same real-world space.
